Native Plant and Book Sale at Tropical Audubon Society
Tropical Audubon Society Wants South Florida to “Go Native!”
The Tropical Audubon Society (TAS) has been a strong advocate for Palmetto Bay’s quality of life. Here’s a chance to say “thanks.”
This weekend, February 27 and 28, TAS is holding a native plant and book sale at their South Miami location.

Tropical Audubon Society Wants South Florida to "Go Native!"
Make it a point to swing by this weekend to pick out some native plants for your backyard or some books for your home library.
Few groups work as tirelessly to protect our environment and public health as TAS (Tropical Audubon Society).
TAS has been a strong advocate for Palmetto Bay. In January, TAS led the fight to stop the development of sensitive wetlands that border Palmetto Bay and our neighboring community of Cutler Bay. Earlier this month, TAS attended public hearings to support the Environmental Protection Agency’s
proposal to limit harmful chemicals in our drinking water.
Show your support and pick up a native plant or book Saturday or Sunday
at the TAS headquarters in nearby South Miami. They will be open for business Saturday, February 27 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, February 28 from 9 a.m to 3 p.m.
Native plants help bridge disconnected habitats in our community and require minimal maintenance.
The plants for sale include:
Beach Verbena
Pineland Heliotrope
Pineland Snowberry
Black Root
Blue-eyed Grass
Pineland Jacquemontia
Pineland Allamanda
Sea Lavender
Lignum Vitae
Mastic

Pineland Heliotrope
TAS is located at 5530 Sunset Drive, South Miami. Free parking is available onsite.
